NEWS ROCKERS AND OTHER ANIMALS
Known for their high-energy live shows and anthemic Hard Rock intensity, the Australian/Irish Jailbirds are back with a sparkling new single, 'The River', full of enough energy to power a 747! Following the critically acclaimed debut of 'The Great Escape' in 2019, the four band have been busy working on the new material, which is full of their trademark Thin Lizzy/AC/DC/Motörhead concoction that, let's be honest, is made for big stages.
'The River' is the first new music the band has released since Pandemic took hold in early 2020, and they are more than excited to finally bring some new Jailbirds to the stage.
Speaking about the new single, singer/guitarist and founding member Axel McDonald said:
"Although the lyrics are metaphorical, on the surface the song is about letting go of the difficulties of our past. It's about the ability to learn and evolve without ever forgetting what has gone before, never to repeat ourselves. The river' is a metaphor for a kind of safe haven where that burden no longer exists. The song also places a strong emphasis on the idea of always overcoming what comes our way, to keep going and to keep going no matter what'.
The single will be officially released on 3 June and will be accompanied by a visualiser that can be viewed on the band's official YouTube channel from Thursday 9 June.
The Jailbirds are:
Axel McDonald - Guitars/Vocals
Ed Orr - Guitar/Secondary vocals
Cian O'Malley - Bass Guitar
Jay McDonald - Drums
