Mega Drive is back announcing 200XAD - a direct sequel to his most iconic creations - 198XAD and 199XAD. The new single "NARC³" is the first release from the upcoming album. Considered a master of cyberpunk, synthwave, and darkwave, Mega Drive's "NARC³" plunges listeners into a dark world with a complex and exciting soundscape that encapsulates the many themes of his previous works, a dystopian future rife with crime, deceit, and corruption. Using only synthesizers and drums, "NARC³" carries the dark stories from 198XAD and 199XAD forward.

“This is the beginning of the end," states Mega Drive. "'NARC3', the debut single from the new album 200XAD, will set in auditory motion the completion of the ‘XAD’ trilogy of albums which began nearly a decade ago with the landmark album, 198XAD. 200XAD will see the past and the present fuse together into a fragmented memory of a forgotten future.”

"NARC³" is available now on all platforms from independent multi-genre label FiXT.

The enigmatic artist behind the Mega Drive project has established himself as one of the most visionary creators in synthwave, and early releases like VHS, Hardwired, and 198XAD represent essential pillars of the dark synth and cyberpunk synthwave outgrowths of the main genre. Since his first releases in 2012, Mega Drive has gained a diehard following and his albums have become some of the most well-known and well-respected recordings in the entire retro synth world.

Never content to lean on past accomplishments, Mega Drive has consistently evolved his sound to embrace new creative approaches, and every album in the artist’s discography offers its own distinctive style. That level of experimentation and willingness to grow as a creator has kept him at the forefront of synthwave’s ever-changing landscape, and it ensures that fans will have new material to enjoy for a long time to come.
