"EpiClassica" is the new double album by Vivaldi Metal Project, the Symphonic Power Metal project from Mistheria that after the first work "The Four Seasons" released in 2016, comes back with this ambitious and successful second work that sees in the line up names like Jeff Scott Soto, Joe Stump, Joel Hoekstra and Anders Johansson, just to name a few. If with the first album the music of Vivaldi was revisited in a metal key, with "EpiClassica" we can listen to other classical musicians such as Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Bach, Schubert, Mozart and many other artists of the 19th century.
It is precisely the musical concept that characterises the project between classical and baroque with accents of revisited musical culture, and we know how much classical music has inspired and continues to inspire heavy metal bands. "EpiClassica" has a 90's power matrix, enriched by the talent of the many guests who have contributed to its essence, a continuous symphony that manages to keep the interest with the high level of the performances, and that's how we can enjoy the opening track "Deposuit Potentes" by Vivaldi himself, "Tears to Splendor' with lyrics by Jeff Scott Soto, while João Luís is the author of the lyrics to Beethoven's 'Symphony of Death', the beautiful 'Revolutionary Odyssey' by Chopin composed by Gabriels and with lyrics by Mistheria. Of the second part of "EpiClassica", four songs stand out the most, the first being "Alight" based on "Turkish March" by Mozart, "Power Take Hold" and "The Eye Of The Guardian" both by Bach and "Tragic Serenade" by Schubert.
An intense, emotional and vibrant album that, with a passion unique to symphonic metal, manages to transport you between baroque accents and arabesque virtuosity through an era that contributed to the creation of masterpieces, recreating the original atmospheres with the power of heavy metal. The classical themes, largely composed of original material, represent the Vivaldi Metal Project’s symphonic-metal style.
The piano parts are remarkable, as are the guitars, and the chorus parts are magnificent, enriching the entire work with the elegance of classicism; an album of depth and commitment that once again enhances Mistheria's artistic project.
